About the Role
We are looking for a passionate basketball trainer to join our team at CAN Sports Center. This is an exciting ground-floor opportunity for someone who has played at the Canadian university level, NCAA, or higher—and is eager to grow into a long-term coaching role.
The position will begin on a casual to part-time basis, with flexible training sessions. As demand increases, there is strong potential for expanded hours and leadership responsibilities. If you have a strong feel for the game, a teacher’s mindset, and the ability to connect with players, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead skill development sessions focused on fundamentals, game IQ, and player growth.
- Design and deliver engaging, age-appropriate training plans.
- Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Build positive relationships with players and parents.
- Support the growth and structure of the basketball program over time.
- Collaborate with the coaching team to ensure a consistent and professional training environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience playing basketball at the university or professional level (U Sports, NCAA, etc.).
- Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals and player development.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Passion for teaching and inspiring young athletes.
- Ability to commit to part-time sessions with potential to grow.
- Coaching experience is an asset, but not mandatory.
Job Type
- Part-time position with flexible hours during weekday evenings and/or weekends.
